Pram Toys & Rattles Crochet Vol 2 gives you four soft DK-cotton pieces for the pram, the play gym and the nursery shelf — a sea turtle with a hexagon-patchwork shell, a fairy penguin, a rainbow lorikeet ring rattle, and a beaded pram garland — plus a bonus page of flat starfish, shell and rainbow motifs, the very ones scattered over the cover photo.
THE FOUR DESIGNS
• Sea Turtle Plush — approx 20 × 18 cm. Seven hexagon motifs (a deep Lagoon centre with Aqua, Mist and Lagoon around it) joined into a flower for the shell, a Mint rim and belly plate that meet stitch-for-stitch at 120 sts, a round head, four flippers and a tiny tail. Room inside the shell for an optional sealed rattle insert.
• Fairy Penguin — approx 13 cm tall. Named for Australia’s own little penguins, the smallest penguins in the world, which nest along our southern coast. The white face and belly are worked in colourwork as you crochet — nothing sewn on that could work loose — with an orange beak and feet, flipper wings and an optional hanging loop for the pram.
• Rainbow Lorikeet Ring Rattle — bird approx 11 cm on a 7 cm wooden ring. Blue head, orange chest and leaf-green wings, just like the lorikeets that chatter through Aussie backyards, with a Sunshine beak, a little green crest, a sealed rattle insert buried in the body, and a long twelve-strand yarn tassel for a tail.
• Pram Garland Chain — beaded section approx 45 cm on a 120 cm cord. Eight chunky crochet-covered wooden beads (four Sky Blue, four Blossom) alternating with seven plain wooden beads, knotted firmly between each bead.
• BONUS — Sea Motifs: a five-pointed starfish (approx 8 cm), a ridged scallop shell (approx 7 cm) and a three-band rainbow (approx 9 cm), for bunting, mobiles and appliqué.
BABY SAFETY, DESIGNED IN
Every face in this pack is embroidered — no plastic safety eyes, no buttons, no glued parts, ever. Rattle inserts are sealed and buried in the centre of the stuffing. The garland is pram decoration for supervised looking only: it is NOT a teething toy, it is tied across the pram hood only, its knots are checked before every use, and it comes down for sleep and car trips. The pattern includes a full safety page — please read it before you start.

YARN & NOTIONS
DK (8 ply) cotton and a 3.5 mm hook, worked firmly (20 sts × 22 rounds = 10 cm). One 50 g ball of each colour covers the whole pack. You also need toy stuffing, one untreated beech ring (70 mm), fifteen untreated beech beads (25 mm), cotton cord — or crochet the chain cord in the pattern — and up to three sealed rattle inserts (optional).
