Description
🌸 AUSSIE FLORA DOILIES — CROCHET PATTERNS VOL 1 🌸
Waratah · Golden Wattle · Banksia
Three classic thread-crochet doilies inspired by the Australian bush flowers we love most — all worked in timeless white or cream size 10 cotton with a 1.50 mm steel hook. This is heirloom Aussie lace for real tables: under the vase, under the teapot, or dressing up a sideboard for Sunday visitors.
Each doily is a genuinely different construction — not one pattern in three sizes:
🌺 WARATAH DOILY — about 30 cm across, 27 rounds
A cluster medallion that opens into two tiers of layered petal fans, like the waratah bloom itself, then settles into openwork arcs and shells and finishes with a picot scallop edge.
🌼 GOLDEN WATTLE DOILY — about 25 cm across, 23 rounds
A pom-pom field of puff stitches and bobbles for the wattle flower head, ringed with openwork rounds and a plain shell scallop edge. All texture, no fuss — the bobbles do the talking.
🍃 BANKSIA DOILY — oval, about 28 x 24 cm, 21 rounds
An oval built on a chain foundation the way old Australian table ovals were made. Spike stitches worked two rounds down give the long centre its dense, cone-like grain, and the edge finishes in 24 leaf points, each tipped with a picot.
WHAT YOU GET
✔ Instant-download PDF, 15 pages
✔ Full round-by-round instructions for all 3 doilies — every round written out with its stitch count in brackets
✔ Thread totals table UP FRONT: one 50 g ball of size 10 cotton (about 211 m in total) makes the whole set, with per-doily metres, yards and grams
✔ A round diagram for each doily, drawn from the same stitch data as the written rounds
✔ Special stitch guide: cluster, puff, bobble, spike stitch and picot, all explained
✔ Blocking and stiffening instructions with exact finished measurements, plus care notes
✔ US crochet terms with UK equivalents
SKILL LEVEL: Confident intermediate — you should be comfortable working in the round and reading stitch counts. Every count is checked, so if a round doesn’t sit right, your bracket count will tell you where.
YOU’LL NEED: Size 10 crochet cotton (white or cream), 1.50 mm steel crochet hook, yarn needle, pins and a blocking surface. Fabric stiffener is optional.
A note on the flowers: our doilies are crocheted in classic white and cream thread — the traditional doily way. The waratah, wattle and banksia are in the shapes: the petals, the pom-poms and the spike.
