Description

Three little angels, all kneeling in prayer — and every one of them built a completely different way. This pattern pack gives you a classic kneeling angel of about 16 cm with her gown closing into a shaped oval base, a tiny one-piece child angel of about 12 cm with closed embroidered eyes and five corkscrew curls, and a taller shawl angel of about 18 cm whose crocheted prayer shawl crosses at her front, held there by her joined hands. Three quiet, gentle keepsakes for a christening, a first communion, a nursery shelf or a prayer corner.

THE THREE ANGELS
• Angel 1 — Classic Kneeling (about 16 cm): a flared gown worked in rounds, closing at a separate oval kneeling base panel whose final round matches the gown stitch for stitch. Two knee tabs worked into the panel’s front edge are her folded-under legs — the base IS the construction, so she kneels on her own panel with no stand and nothing to prop her up. Two tapered sleeves meet at the front over ONE joined hands piece, palms together. Large two-tier wings stand upright, her hair is a smooth cap with a bun, her halo floats on a short crochet stem, and her head is sewn bowed at about 20 degrees.
• Angel 2 — Child Praying (about 12 cm): base and gown in ONE piece — no panel to sew. The front of her base carries two knee-bobble clusters (three 5-dc bobbles each) as her little kneeling mound. Her separate head bows deeply at about 35 degrees, her eyes are embroidered CLOSED with three tiny lashes, her short arms clasp their hands at her chest, her small wings angle down at rest, and her hair is a cap with exactly five corkscrew curls. She has NO halo — she is a small child deep in prayer.
• Angel 3 — Folded-Wing Prayer Shawl (about 18 cm): the tall kneeling construction — a 24-round gown to an 84-stitch base and a long oval panel with its own knee tabs. Her separate triangular SHAWL is worked from a width model (the chart is drawn from the same model, so rows and chart can never disagree), draped over her shoulders, crossed at the front, and held by her joined hands. Her wings are a different, flatter model, folded down along her back under the shawl line. Her hair is a two-panel cap whose front seam IS a centre parting, and her halo is a flat gold ring sewn flat to her hair.

HONEST TECHNIQUE NOTES
Faces are embroidered only — there are no plastic eyes and no buttons anywhere in this pack. Every count in the pattern is generated from the design data and checked stitch by stitch: the base panels’ final rounds equal the gowns’ base rounds exactly, the two-panel cap’s finishing round equals the head’s widest round, the shawl’s edging is counted from the chart’s own outline, and the bowing angles (about 20, 35 and 25 degrees) are stated in the text so the poses come out the way the photos show them.

WHAT YOU GET
A 25-page PDF with all three angels written round by round in US terms (with UK equivalents), a full yarn totals table up front for each angel and for the whole trio, stitch charts for every wing and the shawl drawn from the same models as the written rows, a schematic of the kneeling base panel with its knee tabs, and step-by-step assembly and finishing instructions.

YARN AND SIZES
DK cotton with a 4.0 mm hook at a gauge of 20 sc × 24 rows = 10 cm. The whole trio takes about 244 m (267 yd) of yarn in total — one 50 g ball each of Cream, White, Sage Green, Wattle Gold, Skin Tone and Soft Brown covers the set with yarn to spare, and the per-angel tables in the pattern break every piece down by colour, stitches, metres, yards, grams and balls.

SAFETY
These angels are keepsakes, not toys for babies: they suit children aged 3 years and over only, and every piece is crocheted in or sewn on — there are no detachable small parts.
