Description

An angel for the top of an Aussie Christmas tree: a deep waratah-red gown with wattle-gold trim, cream wings edged in gold, golden hair in a bun, and a gold halo carrying five little crocheted gum leaves. She is about 27 cm tall, and she is crocheted to do the job properly — her skirt is a long hollow cone that slides down over the tree’s top leader and upper branches and grips them, so she sits deep, straight and secure. From our Aussie family shop, she is unmistakably Christmas and unmistakably ours.

PLEASE NOTE — HONESTLY: everything on her is yarn, stuffing and stitches. Her face is embroidered (stitched eyes and a tiny mouth) — the pattern uses no plastic eyes, no buttons and no glued parts. Only her head is stuffed; the body stays hollow for the tree. She is a decoration, not a toy, and the tree, lights, candles and presents in the photos are the setting only. Keep her clear of candle flames and warm bulbs — LED lights are her right companions.

WHAT’S INSIDE THE 16-PAGE PDF
• The gown in one piece, top-down — a fitted bodice (Rounds 1–9) flowing into the flared hollow skirt cone (Rounds 10–54), growing from 18 stitches at the neck to 90 at the hem (about 14 cm across, 22.5 cm deep), with a wattle-gold waistband round and a gold picot hem — every one of the 56 rounds written out in full and generated from the shaping data, so the counts can never disagree
• Head, embroidered face, golden hair cap and bun; two arms with skin-tone hands, red sleeves and gold cuffs
• Two cream wings from a width model — stitches rising sc to hdc to dc for a feathered flare — with a full stitch chart from the same model, a gold edging round counted from the chart’s own outline (72 stitches), and two gold surface feather veins per wing
• The gold halo ring on its stem, and five flat gum leaves (written rows AND a mini chart from the same width model) sewn around the halo’s front arc
• Step-by-step assembly, plus a full balancing section: how the cone fits, why a lean happens and how to fix it, and an invisible ribbon-tie option for an extra-secure sit
• A yarn totals table up front — every piece and every colour costed in metres, yards, grams and 50 g balls, counted stitch by stitch (the whole angel: 4,730 stitches, about 125 m — one ball of each of the five colours)
