THE THREE CHERUBS
• Classic Seated Cherub (approx 15 cm seated) — the traditional build: head, torso, arms, wings and halo made separately and sewn together. Her legs are worked forward with a shaped knee-bend round, her hands rest on her knees, her hair is nine corkscrew curls (each one counted, chain and all), and she wears two tiers of layered wings and a gold halo on a short crochet stem.
• Sleeping Cherub (approx 13 cm seated) — a one-piece seated body with a separate head sewn on TIPPED gently to one side, coming to rest above her folded hands. Her eyes are embroidered closed with lashes, her hair is a sage nightcap with a drooping tail and a gold bobble tip, and her small wings are sewn angled down at rest. She has no halo at all — the sleepy pose is her whole story.
• Storytime Cherub (approx 17 cm seated) — the big sister of the trio. She sits cross-legged in a wide sage dress, under a straight brown bob with a sewn fringe, holding an open crocheted book: one folded cover panel and two page panels, with a little star embroidered on the cover (embroidery only — there is no text in her book). Her wings are the largest of the three, and her halo is a flat gold ring sewn flat to the top of her bob.
TECHNIQUE & HONESTY NOTES
• Faces are EMBROIDERED ONLY, after stuffing — no plastic eyes, no safety eyes, no buttons, nothing glued on.
• All wings are flat crocheted pieces worked in rows from width models, finished with a counted single-crochet edging. They are yarn, all the way through — never feathers.
• The halos are crocheted yarn too, and there is no wire anywhere in this pack.
• US crochet terms with UK equivalents table. Gauge: 20 sc × 24 rows = 10 cm with a 4.0 mm hook in DK cotton; each seated size is computed from that gauge.
YARN & MATERIALS
DK (8 ply) cotton in Cream, White, Sage Green, Wattle Gold, Skin Tone and Soft Brown — one 50 g ball of each colour covers the whole trio (about 253 m / 277 yards in total), plus fibre fill, a 4.0 mm hook, a yarn needle and scraps of dark brown and pink for the faces.
SAFETY
Decorative keepsake dolls for children aged 3 years and over — not toys for babies. They are made with no detachable small parts: every piece is crocheted in or sewn on, and every face is embroidery. Check seams from time to time, as you would with any much-loved handmade.
