Description

An Aussie Easter, bilby-style! In Australia the Easter Bilby is the much-loved local alternative to the Easter Bunny — a gentle native marsupial with beautiful long ears — and this volume is built around one generous display bilby made to sit in a basket and supervise the eggs.

WHAT YOU GET — 3 crochet patterns in one print-ready PDF (16 pages):

1. BASKET BILBY — a big seated bilby, about 22 cm (8.5 in) tall plus those famous extra-long ears (about 16 cm more). One-piece seated body worked bottom-up, separate head, a tip-first tapered snout, flat layered ears, oval feet and a long curling tail. No belly panel, no pouch, no props to buy — just the bilby, exactly as shown on the cover.
2. PASTEL STUFFED EGGS — fully stuffed amigurumi eggs (not covers — these are soft toys and table pieces), in three sizes: small (24 sts), medium (30 sts) and large (36 sts). Work them plain for a classic pastel basket, or all in back loops for the ribbed finish.
3. LACEWORK EGGS — two dressed-up finishes worked from the same three lace rounds: the Scallop-Shell Egg, with the lace band crocheted right into the egg, and the Lace Cap, a separate openwork cap that slips over a finished egg. The lace chart is drawn from the same stitch data as the written rounds, so the two can never disagree.

EVERY PATTERN INCLUDES:
• Full written instructions in US terms with UK equivalents
• Stitch counts on every round — every count in this pack was verified programmatically before publication
• A yarn totals table up front: metres, yards, grams and 50 g balls per colour, per design, and for the whole set
• Embroidered faces only — no plastic safety eyes, so your bilby is soft-toy safe

Skill level: confident beginner to intermediate. The bilby is straightforward spiral amigurumi; the lace rounds ask for chains, double crochet and shells.

You will need DK (8 ply) yarn, a 3.5 mm hook, fibre fill, a yarn needle and black and pink embroidery thread. The wicker basket in the photos is a prop — any basket you love will do.
