Every big stocking casts on 32 sts (40 cm around at the chunky gauge) with an 18-round leg, then each takes its own road: the Classic’s stockinette flap, counted turn and gusset (36 sts decreased back to 32); the Cable-Look’s slip-stitch reinforced flap and slimmer gusset (34 sts); the Aussie Animal’s wedge heel with no flap or gusset at all; and the Striped Candy’s garter-stitch flap with the widest gusset (38 sts) — plus four different cuffs, toes and hanging loops across the set

Because the gauge is real, the promises are too: your stocking really is 40 cm around, and the square cushions really do fit standard 40 cm pads. And Australia runs right through the set — a koala keeping watch over the presents, gum-leaf greens straight from the bush — because Christmas in Australia is a summer Christmas, and these decorations suit it: soft, bright and made for a long festive evening.
