Description

Somewhere out there is an animal so cheerful that people cross oceans just to take a selfie with it. Crochet the happiest animal on earth with our Quokka crochet pattern — a plump little marsupial with a grin that takes up half her face, both arms up in the famous selfie wave, ready to improve every photo she has ever been in. Zero acting required: this is just her face.

Our quokka is built exactly as shown: a plump pear-shaped body with a big cream belly panel sewn on the front, a round head with a cream muzzle panel, an enormous embroidered grin sweeping up both sides of the muzzle, and two small rounded ears. She has exactly 2 arms, both sewn on raised in the selfie wave, with embroidered paw lines; exactly 2 chunky seated thighs; 2 front feet with embroidered toe lines; and one long tail sewn at the back of her base, curving around to rest beside her — look for it in the back and side photos, because from the front she is all grin.

📏 FINISHED SIZE
About 15.6 cm (6.1 in) tall seated, in DK (8 ply) cotton with a 3.00 mm hook. Body about 9.2 cm tall and 8.0 cm across; head about 7.2 cm across; tail about 10.8 cm long; arms about 3.8 cm.

📦 WHAT YOU GET
A 15-page PDF crochet pattern in US terms with every round counted and every piece photographed: body, head, 2 ears, muzzle panel, belly panel, 2 arms, 2 legs, 2 feet and 1 tail — plus the embroidered face (eyes, nose, the big grin, paw lines and toe lines), full assembly, display ideas and variations. Instant download, print-friendly A4.

🧶 MATERIALS
DK cotton: Sandy Brown 33 g (69 m), Cream 2 g (4 m), Black 1 g (2 m, for the embroidery) — worked out stitch by stitch in the pattern, with a yarn totals table up front — plus a scrap of White for the eye highlights. Plus a 3.00 mm hook, toy stuffing, yarn needle, stitch markers, scissors and pins.

📊 SKILL LEVEL
Easy intermediate. Confident single crochet in the round, simple flat row-work for the two panels and basic embroidery (satin-stitch eyes and nose, backstitch grin). Every round’s stitch count is printed, so you always know you are on track.

✅ HONEST DETAILS, BECAUSE WE MAKE THESE OURSELVES
– The eyes, nose and grin are embroidered in yarn — this pattern uses NO plastic safety eyes and no plastic parts anywhere. One honest note: our listing photos are styled concept images, and in a couple of them the eyes catch the light and read a little glossy. The close-up photo shows the eyes as they truly are — plainly stitched matte yarn — and what you make will have soft stitched eyes and the full quokka grin.
– The anatomy is counted and checked: exactly 2 arms (both raised), exactly 2 ears, 2 legs, 2 feet and one tail. The belly and muzzle are proper crocheted panels sewn on, exactly as the pattern honestly describes — no glue, no felt.
– She is a display piece and a very huggable one, but with embroidered features and sewn seams she is not a toy for babies.
– This is a digital pattern only — no finished quokka, yarn or hook is posted to you.

🚫 PLEASE NOTE BEFORE YOU BUY
This listing is for a digital PDF pattern ONLY — no physical item will be shipped. All sales are final on digital downloads, but if you get stuck on any round, message us: we would much rather help you finish her than leave you with a half-grinned quokka.
