π§Ά Aussie Baby Beanies Vol 3 β 12 original knit patterns (PDF, 44 pages).
Twelve clever beanies for little Aussie heads from our Aussie family shop: one knitted sideways in a single garter strip, ribs that step sideways, an eyelet crown, a two-piece beanie whose brim band is knitted separately and sewn on, a bonnet-style beanie with knitted ties, a ruffle that settles into an edge, stranded mountain peaks, petite cables and a brim ringed with bobbles. And every beanie has a small Aussie animal KNITTED RIGHT INTO its front panel from a colour chart β part of the knitting itself, never sewn or embroidered on afterwards. Soft pastel shades throughout β sky blue, mint, peach, cream, lilac, butter yellow, soft pink, soft coral and blush.
Meet the animals: a goanna along the Blackwood Sideways strip, a green tree frog in the Sassafras offset rib, a tawny frogmouth beside the Huon cable, a lyrebird on the Myrtle top-down fold brim, a magpie under the Celery Top eyelet crown, a bettong on the King Billy two-piece band, a pademelon climbing through the Snow Gum peaks, a potoroo among the Mountain Ash petite cables, an antechinus above the Pepperberry bobbles, a dibbler on the Banksia bonnet, a rainbow lorikeet in the Gymea broken rib, and a budgerigar above the Lilly Pilly ruffle.
Each of the 12 patterns includes:
β’ A dedicated photo page showing the animal knitted into the beanie
β’ The animal's colour chart, with every motif round also written out in full with stitch counts
β’ Pattern-at-a-glance box (skill level, finished size, yarn, needles)
β’ Full round-by-round instructions with stitch counts on every round
β’ Its own construction β no shared skeleton: sideways knitting, an eyelet crown, a replaceable sewn-on brim band and a bonnet with ties
β’ Sizes newborn, 0β3, 3β6 and 6β12 months, with a head-circumference sizing table
β’ A cute finishing touch β a tiny pom-pom, tassel or little bow
Skill level: Confident beginner (the eyelet crown, peaks band, petite cable and bobble designs are intermediate). DK weight yarn, 3.25 mm needles. The Banksia Bonnet Dibbler is the one that cannot be pulled off β a gift-season favourite across Australia.
