These minis use true baby proportions: a small sphere body with a proportionally bigger head, tiny limbs, and the baby features that make them irresistible — a joey tucked in his own pouch, a puggle echidna with soft baby spikes, bird chicks, and an emu chick wearing its real-life stripes.
This collection includes 12 original patterns: Baby Koala (about 8 cm), Joey in a Pouch (about 8 cm in the pouch; joey about 6 cm), Baby Wombat (about 7.5 cm), Baby Quokka (about 7.5 cm), Baby Platypus (about 7.5 cm), Puggle — Baby Echidna (about 7.5 cm, plus spikes), Kookaburra Chick (about 8 cm), Cockatoo Chick (about 8 cm including tuft), Baby Wallaby — Joey (about 8 cm), Baby Bilby (about 9.5 cm including ears), Baby Tasmanian Devil (about 7.5 cm) and Emu Chick (about 9 cm).
Each of the 12 patterns includes:
• Its own dedicated solo photo — every mini photographed individually, no repeats
• Pattern-at-a-glance box (type, honest finished size from the stated gauge, pieces, yarn, level)
• Full round-by-round instructions in US crochet terms ONLY, with the stitch count stated at the end of EVERY round and row (564 counted rounds and rows in this book)
• Asserted mini sphere ladders in baby proportions (small body, bigger head), plus tiny ears, muzzles and limbs as separate pieces with their own counts
• Baby-only details: the joey's own crocheted pouch with cream trim, the puggle's 6 soft spikes, the cockatoo chick's 3-spike crest tuft, and the emu chick's 3 sewn-on stripe bands
• Step-by-step assembly and a maker's tip for every mini
• An honest eyes note in every pattern: these are baby-sized toys — embroidered eyes recommended if the toy is for a child under 3, and on minis this small they are the better choice at any age

DK / light-worsted yarn and a 3.0 mm hook (a size down, for a tight mini gauge) are all you need.
Skill level: Confident beginner. If you can work a magic ring, single crochet, increases and decreases, you can make these minis — just bring a little patience for small pieces.
