🎄 Aussie Pet Christmas Knits Vol 3 — 12 original knitting patterns (PDF, 29 pages).
The furriest family members deserve a present under the tree too — and pet gifting is the Christmas trend that keeps growing, because a hand-knitted blanket or toy made just for them says it best. This whimsical collection from our Aussie family shop is all cosy naps and playtime: five small pet blankets for snuggling under, and seven knitted play toys for dogs and cats, every one dressed as a favourite Aussie animal. Each finished piece is a keepsake that comes out every December, and a DIY holiday activity that turns a few craft nights into a whole basket of Christmas joy.
This collection includes 12 original patterns: Koala Cuddle Blanket, Kangaroo Bone Toy, Wombat Snuggle Blanket, Quokka Ball Toy, Bilby Blanket with Long-Ear Border, Cockatoo Feather Wand Toy, Kookaburra Laugh Ball Toy, Platypus Blanket, Echidna Spike Ball Toy, Wallaby Pouch Blanket, Tassie Devil Tug Toy, and Emu Feather Mouse Toy.
Each of the 12 patterns includes:
• A dedicated photo page
• Pattern-at-a-glance box (skill level, finished size, yarn, needles)
• Full row-by-row and round-by-round instructions with stitch counts on every row and round
• All 5 blankets on ONE verified flat ladder — a 60-stitch garter-bordered panel (6 border rows + 48 pattern rows + 6 border rows), sized up purely by working extra 12-row repeats
• The Bilby Blanket's long-ear border knitted as five separate long ears sewn along the top edge, and the Wallaby Pouch Blanket's real knitted pocket sewn at the centre
• Simple toy ladders reused across the set: the closed ball (6 stitches up to 24 and back), the bone (straight shaft plus four lobes), the mouse body, one pointed-oval feather ladder (3 to 9 stitches and back), and braided tug cords
• Ears, bills, beaks, spikes, feathers and patches knitted separately and sewn on last, so every Aussie character sits perfectly
• An honest safety line in every toy pattern: supervise play, check for wear, take the toy away if a seam splits, and remember no knitted toy is chew-proof — plus a bell secured in stuffing at the very centre of the Laugh Ball, and a person-held wand
Knit a blanket for the family dog, a feather mouse for the cat, and a matching set for every pet on your street, then gift finished blankets and toys to every Australia-loving pet family you know. These Aussie animals, the much-loved animals of Australia — koala, kangaroo, wombat, quokka, bilby, cockatoo, kookaburra, platypus, echidna, wallaby, Tasmanian devil and emu — bring a true Aussie Christmas to the basket, the sofa and the toy box, whether you are celebrating in Australia or carrying a little Aussie Christmas with you anywhere in the world.
Skill level: Confident beginner. Blankets are worked in DK yarn held double on 4.5 mm needles (or a single strand of chunky); toys are worked in a single strand of DK on 3.25 mm needles.
