Description

🎄 Aussie Pet Christmas Knits Vol 5 — 12 original knitting patterns (PDF, 49 pages).

Three ways to wear it — a roll-neck, a hood, or a step-in vest — so every pet in the family can be the best-dressed one at Christmas, in the style that actually suits them. This whimsical collection from our Aussie family shop takes one sized pet-jumper ladder and finishes it three different ways, with small scattered repeat motifs instead of one big centre picture: gum leaves, hearts, holly, stars, moons, bubbles, laugh-lines, boomerangs and paw prints all over the back, plus feather, spike and tinsel side panels. It is Christmas in Australia, knitted for the smallest members of the family. Knit one for the family photo, knit them as gifts for every pet lover you know, and keep the finished garment as a keepsake that comes out every December. A joyful DIY holiday activity from the first cast-on to the final photograph — every jumper hand-knitted by you.

This collection includes 12 original patterns: Koala Roll-Neck Jumper, Kangaroo Hooded Jumper, Wombat Step-In Vest, Quokka Roll-Neck Jumper, Bilby Hooded Jumper, Cockatoo Step-In Vest, Kookaburra Roll-Neck Jumper, Platypus Hooded Jumper, Echidna Step-In Vest, Wallaby Roll-Neck Jumper, Tassie Devil Hooded Jumper, and Emu Step-In Vest.

Every pattern includes:
• Its own dedicated solo photo page — twelve different photos for twelve different garments
• Pattern-at-a-glance box stating which variant it is (roll-neck, hooded or step-in vest), all five sizes, yarn and needles
• Full round-by-round and row-by-row instructions with stitch counts on every round and row
• ONE sized body ladder used by all twelve garments — hem rib, lower body, flat leg-opening panels (back panel and chest panel worked flat, then rejoined) — then the three finishes part ways: the ROLL-NECK ends in 12 rounds of plain stockinette that roll into a soft collar; the HOODED jumper works a hood flat on the full neck count and joins the top with a 3-needle bind-off; the STEP-IN VEST binds off the chest panel so the chest stays open, works the back alone, and finishes with two shoulder straps that button down — nothing ever pulls over your pet's head
• FIVE sizes by chest measurement: XS about 25 cm (CO 56 sts), S about 35 cm (CO 76 sts), M about 45 cm (CO 100 sts), L about 60 cm (CO 132 sts), XL about 75 cm (CO 164 sts) — every count change per size is stated in every pattern, and back lengths run about 20 / 28 / 35 / 45 / 52 cm
• A Measure Your Pet guide in the getting-started pages: measure the chest behind the front legs, choose the size by that measurement, and check for snug-not-tight two-finger ease — dogs and cats wear the same five sizes, and the chest measurement decides
• A SMALL REPEAT motif charted in full in every pattern (one repeat unit, with the placement maths worked out per size — how many full repeats fit the back, where the first repeat starts, and how many vertical repeats the body takes): gum-leaf repeat, cream heart repeat (a joey repeat would not chart cleanly at this size, so the kangaroo's joey is honoured with hearts — the joey sits in the pouch, where the heart is), holly berry repeat, gold star repeat, moon-and-star repeat, bubble repeat, laugh-lines wave repeat, boomerang repeat and paw-print repeat across the backs, and feather-stripe, spike-stripe and tinsel-stripe SIDE PANELS running up both sides of the three step-in vests
• A fit line and a safety line in every pattern: supervise wear, comfortable fit, no dangling parts, remove the garment if your pet chews it — plus an honest hood line (a hood must sit flat and never cover eyes or ears when up, and some pets simply do not like hoods) and a button line for the vests (sew on with doubled thread, tug-test, check before every wear)
• DK yarn on 3.25–4 mm needles throughout

These Aussie animals — the much-loved animals of Australia: koala, kangaroo, wombat, quokka, bilby, cockatoo, kookaburra, platypus, echidna, wallaby, Tasmanian devil and emu — bring a true Aussie Christmas to the family photo, the present pile and the Christmas card, whether you are celebrating in Australia or carrying a little Aussie Christmas with you anywhere in the world. Knit the Koala Roll-Neck for the dog, the Kangaroo Hooded for the cat, and a Wombat Vest for the pet who refuses to put their head through anything — then line them all up under the tree.

Skill level: Confident beginner. If you can knit in the round, work flat stockinette panels and follow a small colour chart, you can knit every garment in this book.
