🦃🍂 AUSSIE THANKSGIVING TABLE DECOR CROCHET PATTERNS VOL 1 🍂🦃
Dress the whole Thanksgiving table in crochet: a rust-and-cream Granny Table Runner, four maple-leaf placemats in sage green and rust, and four ribbed table pumpkins with brown stalks. Thanksgiving isn’t a traditional Australian holiday — but any feast that brings family around a table is one worth adopting, and this is our Aussie family’s way of dressing it: warm rust, cream and sage, worked in honest cotton and made to come out of the cupboard every autumn for years.
HOW THESE ARE MADE — honestly: the runner is classic granny stitch, clusters of three double crochet worked into the spaces in wide colour bands. The placemats are single-crochet leaves worked from a full chart — every row is one unbroken run, with the increases and decreases spelled out, a short stem sewn at the base and slip-stitched veins for structure. The pumpkins are tubes of back-loop single crochet worked in the round, cinched at both ends, stuffed, and wrapped with yarn to press in the lobes. Nothing here is faked or surface-applied afterwards — every texture is real crochet, made the way the pattern describes.
🧶 DESIGN 1 — GRANNY TABLE RUNNER
About 90 × 35 cm. Thirteen clusters a row, fifty-four rows, one row pattern learned once and repeated — the bands of Rust and Cream are symmetrical, so the runner looks right from either end of the table. Changing colour is explained stitch by stitch, tails and all.
🍁 DESIGN 2 — LEAF PLACEMATS (SET OF 4)
Maple-style leaves about 28 cm wide × 26 cm tall, plus a 5 cm stem — big enough to frame a dinner plate, as the photos show. You get BOTH the full colour chart (60 × 57) AND every row written out in full with its stitch count, and the written rows are generated from the chart itself, so the two can never disagree. Make two in Sage Green and two in Rust.
🎃 DESIGN 3 — TABLE PUMPKINS (2 LARGE + 2 SMALL)
Large about 13 cm across in Rust, Small about 10 cm in Sage Green, each with a Bark Brown stalk sewn on. Back-loop rounds make the ribbing; a firm cinch and eight yarn wraps make the lobes. The pattern gives both sizes in full, plus the stalk, stuffing and shaping steps — and notes on working a size in between.
🧮 EVERY STITCH COUNTED
Every count in this pack has been computer-checked before printing: the granny rows from a stitch model, the leaf rows and shaping computed from the chart grid row by row, the pumpkin rounds from their round models. The yarn table sits right up front — per piece and per colour, in metres, yards, grams and 50 g balls. The whole set takes about 455 m of DK cotton: three balls of Rust, two of Sage Green, and one each of Cream and Bark Brown.
📏 GAUGE & SIZES: 20 sc × 22 rows = 10 cm in DK (8 ply) cotton with a 4.0 mm hook. US terms throughout, with UK equivalents in the table up front.
✂️ SKILL LEVEL: confident beginner and up. If you can chain, single crochet and double crochet, you can make every piece — the chart work is fully written out, and the techniques (granny clusters, back-loop ribbing, surface slip-stitch veins, cinching and lobe-wrapping) are all explained in the pattern.
🎁 A beautiful handmade centrepiece set for Thanksgiving, autumn dinner parties and harvest tables — and a lovely housewarming or hostess gift for anyone who loves a dressed table.
