We’re Al and Tina from our Aussie family shop, and this collection appliqués Australia’s extraordinary sea life block by block — twelve ocean scenes finished with deep teal binding.
Every block finishes at 10in, and the twelve scenes are built from 245 appliqué pieces in all.

- 🧵 Two ways to appliqué: Method A fusible web, Method B needle-turn — pick your favourite, or mix them block by block
- 🧮 Fabric requirements for the whole quilt plus a per-block computed table, and full cutting figures for sashing, borders and binding

🧵 TWO WAYS TO APPLIQUÉ
Whichever way you like to appliqué, you’re covered. Method A (fusible web) is quick and forgiving — trace, fuse, stitch around the edge and the block is done. Method B (needle-turn) gives the traditional hand-finished edge. Every block chapter lays out its pieces in sewing order, and the templates in the PDF are the verified geometry itself, so what you cut is exactly what the placement diagram shows.
🐙 A WORD ON THE OCTOPUS
Our blue-ringed octopus is drawn cute — big eyes and six blue rings — but the real animal is one of the most venomous on the reef, so the pack carries a clear safety note with the block: admire the real ones from a distance, never pick one up. The quilt version, thankfully, is perfectly safe to cuddle.
