Description
Heirloom ivory lace for the wedding table — and for any table that deserves it. Wedding Lace Crochet Vol 2 gives you three fine pieces: a big rectangular lace centrepiece with a deep fan border, a delicate crochet edging for a linen handkerchief, and sweet little drawstring favour bags made to hold dried lavender.
THE THREE DESIGNS
• Ivory Lace Table Centrepiece — approx 94 × 46 cm (37 × 18 in) including the border. An openwork floral mesh field in No. 10 cotton thread, with fan “flowers” blooming across it, finished all round with a deep border of arches, fans and picot points.
• Linen Handkerchief with Crochet Lace Edging — the cloth is plain linen (the pattern is honest about that: buy a hemstitched 28 cm square or hem one yourself); the crochet is the fine fan edging worked straight into the edge of the cloth, with bigger corner fans that turn each corner without a seam. Finished about 34 × 34 cm including the edging.
• Lavender Favour Bags — approx 8 cm across the base, 13 cm tall, in DK cotton. A solid crocheted base, an openwork fan-and-arch lace body, a cord drawstring through an eyelet round, and a frilly double ruffle at the top. The yarn quantities make three bags — and one 50 g ball makes two, so a whole wedding party is well within reach. (Dried lavender is not included — buy it loose and fill them yourself.)
WHAT YOU GET
A 10-page printable PDF pattern with:
• Every row and every round of all three pieces written out in full, with the stitch count in brackets — and every count in this pack was checked by computer before printing, so if your count matches, you are exactly on track
• Four charts — the centrepiece field, both border/edging details, and the favour bag — all drawn from the same stitch data as the written pattern, so the charts and the words always agree
• A yarn totals table up front: stitches, metres, yards, grams and balls for every piece and for the whole pack
• Full notes on blocking and starching (the lace earns its looks at the blocking board), attaching the edging to the cloth, the optional bag lining, and care
• US terms with UK equivalents throughout
THREAD, YARN & SIZES
The two thread pieces take one 100 g ball of No. 10 crochet cotton in Ivory between them (about 454 m used of the ball’s 850 m), with a 1.5 mm steel hook. The bags take DK (8 ply) cotton in Ivory with a 3.25 mm hook — about 20 g per bag.
SKILL LEVEL
Intermediate — the stitches themselves are simple (chains, single and double crochet), but the thread pieces ask for patience and a love of counting. The favour bags are the gentle place to start, and they make lovely gifts long after the wedding: jewellery pouches, drawer sachets, and keepsakes.
