Description
🎂 Six Aussie animals, six birthday cakes — and every single step done for you.
If your little one dreams in koalas and kangaroos, this is the cake book for their party. Inside are six complete, from-scratch cake projects — Koala, Kangaroo (with a joey peeking out of the pouch), Quokka, Wombat, Rainbow Lorikeet and Platypus — written for real home bakers in real home kitchens, right here in the Australian tradition of the homemade birthday cake.
📖 WHAT'S INSIDE
• Full base recipes from scratch for every cake — master vanilla butter cake and master chocolate cake, with ingredients in grams and millilitres plus cup and US conversions, and oven temperatures in C, F and gas mark
• Exact tin sizes and batch counts for each cake, so there is no guesswork at the supermarket
• A cutting and shaping diagram for every cake, drawn to scale — which pieces are cut from which cake, and where they go
• Crumb-coat and buttercream recipes with exact colour guidance for every animal, gel and natural options
• Step-by-step decorating instructions in the order a decorator actually works, plus a two-day timeline for every cake so party day stays calm
• Storage and transport tips for every design (the platypus lies flat and travels like a dream)
• A full Cake Basics chapter — buttercream master recipe, a colour-mixing guide, and an allergen-swap page with gluten-free, dairy-free and egg-free options
🌿 THE AUSSIE BIT
These are the animals our kids actually ask for — the koala in the gum tree, the roo with her joey, the quokka with the happiest smile in Australia. Every cake is designed to look genuinely impressive and be genuinely achievable, with piping and shaping techniques that forgive a wobble or two.
