• A full WREATH-BASE TECHNIQUE in Getting Started: how to cover a 30 cm wreath ring with a chunky knitted strip — cast on 12 sts (15 cm wide), knit 94 rows (94 cm = pi × 30 cm, the ring's own circumference), wrap, sew at the back, dress. The mini version (8 sts × 48 rows) covers a 15 cm ring
• Classic Holly Wreath — 8 chunky holly leaves and 6 fat berries on the knitted-strip base
• Gum Leaf & Bottlebrush Wreath — long Aussie gum leaves and red bottlebrush spikes, the true Aussie Christmas wreath

Making them: super bulky (category 6) yarn and 9 mm needles throughout, so the knitting grows fast enough to watch — most pieces are a single evening's project, and every finished size is worked out honestly from the real chunky gauge (8 sts × 10 rows = 10 cm), so your runner really is 120 cm long and your wreath strip really does meet itself at the back of the ring. The gum leaf and bottlebrush wreath carries Australia through the set — eucalyptus greens and bottlebrush red are how Australia does Christmas foliage — and the whole collection dresses an Aussie Christmas table from the door to the last coaster, while working just as happily wherever Christmas is cold and the snow is real.
